What are microalgae ?
Microalgae are amazing little creatures that prosper in aquatic environments while performing the magical process of photosynthesis. Mere sunlight and carbon dioxide (CO2) combine into a fabulous source of energy, not too different from their larger green cousins - plants.
What are the environmental benefits of using microalgae for CO2 capture ?
Using microalgae for CO2 capture helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, mitigate climate change, and produce sustainable biomass. This biomass can be converted into renewable energy sources, such as biofuels, reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Microalgae have a high photosynthetic efficiency, allowing them to absorb CO2 more quickly than many terrestrial plants. They can be grown in a variety of environments, including industrial bioreactors, which makes them adaptable for large-scale CO2 capture.
How do microalgae capture CO2 ?
